Home Automation System using Arduino Microcontroller
Sanalkumar A
Abstract: Modern homes are gradually shifting away from traditional switches and towards centralised control systems with remote-controlled switches. Currently, conventional wall switches located in various parts of the house make it difficult for the user to get close to them in order to operate them. It becomes even more difficult for the elderly or physically disabled people to do so. With smart phones, a remote-controlled home automation system provides the most modern solution. Technology is an ongoing process. Being able to design a product using current technology that will improve the lives of others is a significant contribution to the community. This paper describes the design and implementation of a low- cost, flexible, and secure home automation system based on cell phones.

Mitigation Of Unbalanced Faults In Distribution System Using Fd-Statcom With Scess
MEENU SUSAN SKARIA, S.T.SUGANTHI
Abstract: Power quality is certainly a major concern in the present era. This paper proposes a flexible D-STATCOM with a new controller scheme. And it supplies power to sensitive loads under Islanding conditions. This paper introduce the performance of FD-STATCOM system to mitigate power quality problems under all types of system related disturbances such as L-L &DLG faults. A 12 pulse IGBT based D-STATCOM is designed using MATLAB.Here the super capacitor is used as the storage device. The realibility of the control scheme in the system response to the voltage disturbances caused by LL&DLG faults and Islanded operating conditions are obviously proved in the simulation results.

Space Vector Modulation Based Total Harmonic Distortion Minimization In Induction Motor
D.BANUPRIYA, DR. K.SHEELA SOBANA RANI
Abstract: The most popular and best modulation method used among Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technique is Space Vector Modulation (SVM) method. SVM generates low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and it is well suitable for motor control. Harmonics is one of the major power quality issues occurring in most of the application. SVM holds the major advantage that only one switch is turned on at a time. The proposed model shows the effect of eliminating the lower order harmonics in SVM. MATLAB/Simulink is used develop the model.

Performance Analysis Of Maximum Power Point Tracking Based Photovoltaic Module With Cuk Converter For Electrical Applications
LEKSHMY RAJAN U, R.PRADEEP
Abstract: In recent days, Photovoltaic power generation systems are becoming increasingly prevalent in distribution and generation systems. Many industrialized nations are installing significant solar power capacity in their grids as a supplement or alternative to other power sources. This project presents an MPPT based PV module with CUK converter for electrical applications. In conventional system, high ratio DC-DC converter is having high switching loss due to extreme duty ratios and numerous turns’ ratios in the coupled inductor. Also the converter used is single stage, having low power. Also the DC-DC converter used is the boost converter, whose voltage gain is comparatively lower. It also possess severe diode reverse recovery problem. If high duty cycle is used for getting high output voltage, will lead to poor dynamic responses. To overcome these difficulties and to use in application level CUK converter with a PWM inverter is used. In the proposed method, instead of using the boost converter, the CUK converter with a PWM inverter is used. The PWM inverter uses a filter to reduce the harmonics .The PV model also uses MPPT to track maximum power from the panel.

Selective Harmonic Elimination Using Shunt Hybrid Active Power Filters Operating At Different Switching Frequencies
ELSA SUSAN DANIEL, G.ABIRAMI
Abstract: Active filtering of electric power has now become a mature technology for harmonic and reactive power compensation in ac networks. This paper proposes a combination of low- and high frequency hybrid active power filter (APF) to operate in parallel for better performance. The individual hybrid Active Power Filter is a series combination of passive filter with the corresponding voltage source inverter. The dc links of both inverters are connected in parallel, and the voltage of this dc link is maintained by the low-frequency inverter (LFI). The low-and high-frequency inverters eliminate lower and higher order harmonics respectively. In addition, it is possible to design the LFI such that it can also compensate the reactive power of the load. The individual passive filter of the hybrid topology is designed to take care of specific order of harmonics that are predominant in the load. In this paper a design for a three phase active power filter use a reduced switch (B4) topology and one cycle control is presented. The B4 topology offers the advantage of reduced cost and bridge losses at the expense of device stress and increased DC-side voltage. This design also provides the advantages associated with one cycle control. The performances of the proposed topology and the controller are examined by MATLAB/SIMULINK-based simulation.

A New Adaptive Hybrid Neural Network And Fuzzy Logic Based Fault Classification Approach For Transmission Lines Protection
PRASAD B, B.PAKKIRAIAH, SANTOSH BEJUGAM, CH SUBBA REDDY
Abstract: Dynamic neural networks have been applied in system identification and control for those systems for last few years. A wide class of nonlinear physical systems contains slow and fast dynamic processes that occur at different moments. An adaptive hybrid neural networks and fuzzy logic based algorithm is proposed in this research to classify fault types in transmission lines. The proposed method is able to identify all the available shunt faults in transmission lines with high level of robustness against variable conditions such as measured amplitudes and fault resistance. In this method, a two-end unsynchronized measurement of the signals is used which can be incorporated in digital distance relays that are able to be programmed, it can also be shared and discourse data with all protective and monitoring device. The process has been carried over by a number of simulations using in MATLAB software.

Echo Hiding Approach in Video Forensic
DR. A.K.SEN, SUSMITA DUTTA, SANJAY DABADGAONKAR
Abstract: With the advancement in the information processing and transferring device, security of the transferred information is of significant concern. Several methods have been developed for secured data transfer. Steganography is one of the methods. Our invention relates to Digital steganography, which is the art of inconspicuously embedding data within a data. Steganography's goal in general is to hide data well enough that unintended recipients do not suspect the steganographic medium of containing hidden data. Here, in this article we introduce this steganographic technique that hides messages in video as well as audio which proposes a scheme that improves the robustness of data hiding. In Echo hiding, message is embedded in a sound signal in video stenography by introducing an echo into the discrete signal. It has the advantage of high data rate. In echo hiding, encoding is done by breaking the signal into blocks & each block is assigned binary “1” & binary “0” depending upon some offset value that we use in encoding.

Functions of kidney & artificial kidneys
RAGHAVENDRA, MALLIKARJUN, VIDYA M.J
Abstract: Renal failure is a term to describe a situation when the kidneys fail to work. This may be a permanent or temporary failure. When the kidneys fail, Wastes begin to accumulate in the blood (uremia) As homeostasis is upset within the body, other organs can also begin to shut down – heart, liver, etc. The end result of renal failure is usually death unless the blood is filtered by some other means. The ideal intervention is to replace the failed kidneys with a donor kidney (STSE).While a person waits for a donor kidney, they usually have to undergo dialysis, a method where their blood is filtered and cleaned on a regular basis using machines.
